Individual

Individual therapy is a form of counseling in which the client is treated one-on-one with a therapist. It may encompass many different treatments and may be approached differently for each person. The goal of therapy is a common need to learn more about ourselves through personal insight and emotional support.

Couples

Couples counseling involves both partners in an intimate relationship forming a therapeutic relationship with a trained counselor, at the same time. The focus of couples counseling is on improving the quality of the relationship for both partners. Couples counseling looks at issues like communication, honesty, shared responsibilities, commitment, and mutual support.

Families

Family therapy involves members of the nuclear and/or extended family with the aim of improving communications between them and the ways in which they relate to each other. The most common method is based on family systems theory.

Parents

Parents need support and counseling can offer assistance to families in helping them define their beliefs, strengthening and empowering them so that they can foster the optimal development of children, youth, and adult family members.

Children

Children’s therapy includes a variety of counseling techniques and methods intended to help children and adolescents address specific issues such as difficult emotions, behavior challenges, family changes and transitions, or childhood trauma. Grief

Grief is a multi-faceted response to loss, loss of someone or something to which a bond was formed, a deep mental anguish, a sadness caused by someone’s death. Grieving is a very personal experience. Significant grief responses which go unresolved can lead to mental, physical, and sociological problems and contribute to family dysfunction across generations.

Loneliness

Loneliness is a universal human emotion; it has no single common cause, so the preventions and treatments for this damaging state of mind vary. While common definitions of loneliness describe it as a state of solitude or being alone, loneliness is actually a state of mind.

Mental Illness

Mental illness affects persons of any age, race, religion, or income. It is not the result of personal weakness, lack of character or poor upbringing. Mental illnesses are treatable. Most people diagnosed with mental illness can experience relief from symptoms by participating in an individual treatment plan. Recovery is possible.

The counselor will work with clients in identifying their career objectives and marketable skills, developing or modifying their resume, learning interviewing and networking skills, and locating possible career opportunities.

Family dynamics are the interactions and interrelationships between and among individual family members. Even though families are made up of individual members, themes and relationships are reflected in the family as a whole.
