Tim Solomon received his MA from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia along with his BS in Psychology.  Tim has worked in addiction counseling with the Salvation Army Crossroads Program, where the program incorporated clients from the Department of Corrections. This experience has allowed him to be more effective in the structure of the family, which includes addictive behaviors.

His passion in counseling is focusing on the family. The dynamics found within the family include child and adolescent issues, addictions, and especially marital problems. Tim is currently in the process of pursuing Gottman certification in couples therapy from co-founders John and Julie Gottman.  Currently he has completed Level 1, 2 and 3 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and applies Gottman Method Couples Therapy in his work.

The treatment program that Tim uses is an integrated approach of various psychotherapy techniques. After the initial interview of the client, he will then establish a therapy plan that will be used for the most time efficient and effective mode of therapy. His overall goal is to aid a client in resuming his or her “normal” way of life with as little disruption as possible, providing the client tools to maintain his or her own “normal”. This is all done in a safe and confidential atmosphere to develop a trusting relationship in an effort to achieve success through psychotherapy.

As a competent Christian Counselor, I combine both Biblical principals and practical education to best serve my clients. I use whatever modality that is necessary for the good of the client, while applying currents skills and information.
